Rock The Vote, Day 21: Wendy Williams

Rock The Vote is an original series, where I make an educated and researched guess on who certain celebrities are voting for Nov. 3, 2020.

Wendy Williams is a radio jockey turned morning show host, who is known for her outspoken nature on pop culture.

But she rarely discusses politics or her opinion on a political candidate. 

In 2015, Williams said she gets along with Donald Trump, but said she would not vote for him.

In a February 2016 interview with Larry King, Williams said she wasn't sure who she was going to vote for in the 2016 election between Trump and Hillary Clinton. She said she would like to believe that Trump isn't racist and that just because Clinton is a woman doesn't mean she has to vote for her. Before Trump was president, he was on the Williams' morning show several times. 

Later in 2016, Williams seemed to think Clinton won a debate against Trump.

Williams has been accused of being homophobic and transphobic. During her show, she told men to "stop wearing our dresses and heels" and then said you have to menstruate in order to be a woman. 

In 2016, Williams spoke out against historically Black colleges and the NAACP, saying if there was a historically white college and a white association, she would be offended. The idea of reverse racism (the idea you can be racist toward white people) is typically tied to conservative beliefs. There is little evidence that white Americans experience any kind of discrimination based on their skin color. 

In May, Williams interviewed actor D.L. Hughley about who presidential nominee Joe Biden would pick as his vice president.

When Trump got COVID-19 and then tweeted that the American public shouldn't be afraid of it, Williams shot back. 

I would like to believe Williams is voting for Biden.
