Rock The Vote, Day 15: Madonna

Rock The Vote is an original series, where I make an educated and researched guess on who certain celebrities are voting for Nov. 3, 2020.

Madonna hates President Donald Trump.

The reason she was on my list for this series was because recently she shared an video of Louis Farrakhan, "the Nation of Islam leader who has spouted anti-Semitic rhetoric over the years," according to jta.com. In 2016, Farrakhan praised Trump.

In July, Madonna posted (and later deleted) a conspiracy theory video about coronavirus that said there is a cure for the virus and that wearing masks are unnecessary.

“The truth will set us all free, but some people don’t want to see the truth, especially the people in power who stand to make money from this long, drawn-out search for a vaccine, which has been proven and been available for months,” Madonna captioned the video, according to Vogue.

So I thought Madonna might be racist and crazy and align herself with Trump. (Trump has a history of using racist language and lying about COVID-19.)

However, that doesn't seem to be the case. After Trump was elected president in 2016, Madonna told the crowd at the women's march that she thought about “blowing up the White House” after Trump was elected. Madonna told Vogue Italia that she fled America after Trump was elected.

In Trump's niece's book about the president, Mary Trump writes that Madonna once refused a date with Trump. Before that, Madonna called Trump a "wimp."

About 10 days ago, Madonna tweeted that she voted for Vice President Joe Biden for the 2020 election.

The election is Nov. 3. Find out where you can vote. Support local journalism to stay informed.
